Akabella has been singing uplifting, vibrant songs from all round the world since 1995. Launched in Bradford on Avon by Lisa Otter-Barry and Dave King, Akabella pioneered acappella community choir singing in West Wiltshire and the introduction of natural voice songs from different traditions. Akabella was closely involved with the Wiltshire Music Centre’s successful Wiltshire and Swindon Special Schools Music Festival for many years, administrating, running workshops in the schools and supporting the children onstage at the performances. Akabella celebrates 30 years of joyful and heartfelt singing in 2025.
