Viva Vocals is a non-auditioned, female voices community choir from Corsham, Wiltshire which started up over 5 years ago as backing singers to a ukulele band! Since then, under the direction of their conductor John Sandford, they have become an established choir in their own right, singing arrangements of popular songs from artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Yazoo, Anna Kendrick and Katy Perry.

Their strapline is ‘Sing Yourself Happy’ and that is what they strive to achieve at each practice and concert opportunity.

As their numbers increased, they have taken on more challenging material, including 4 part ‘a capella’ items. This year, they also learned to perform their concert items without any music.

In today’s performance, they will be joined by their talented accompanist, Michelle Howarth.
